One day, not too long ago, I came to an epiphany. "I'm going to make a knife."
It wasn't too long before I set out to make more than one knife. And thus,
Flightless Forge was born. Many other knifemakers on the internet have pedigrees stretching back decades. Me, mine extends to, approximately speaking, last Thursday. But never mind that. I hand make knives, in house, from scratch, employing a Herculean amount of effort to do so. Why? Because I've always wanted to. This may or may not turn out to be a sustainable plan. We'll see.
So, hi. I'm the Dual_Sport_Dork. I'm a smith. A word smith, mostly. You may know me from my snarky and loquacious articles on
lemmy.world, where I talk about knives a lot and probably don't quite manage to write entries often enough for my
Weird Knife Wednesday series as I should.
I also design silly yet functional 3D printed things, no points for guessing that several of them are also knives, engage in an awful lot of largely awful photography, and go for penguins. That Lyle Lovett song may have had something to do with that last one, but then again maybe not.
Anyway, a lot of people expressed interest in being able to buy the stuff I make, and you can't do that these days without an online presence. So why not have myself a good old fashioned Web 1.0 style personal website, where I can variously meander off topic and write everything in a hugely unprofessional first person format.
This ought to be fun.
Against my own better judgement, I present to you my email, out here in the open, on the Internet:

I'm theoretically open to custom commissions, if the price is right, or if you have a question about something you can drop me a line. If your inquiry is excessively stupid I probably won't reply.
If you would like to give me money and recieve absolutely nothing in return, feel free to do so via my
Patreon or
Ko-Fi pages.
